Job Title: Accountant (Shared Services)

Location: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia — Hybrid at Q Sentral (3–4 days on-site after onboarding)

Team: Work with a cross-border team spanning Hong Kong, an established Malaysia team, and a Philippines team.

About usAlgoGroup is building pet care brands across Asia. We recently acquired an established, 15+ year veterinary clinic in Hong Kong and are adding a high-velocity e-commerce pet-pharmacy element to serve customers better. You'll be part of the founding ops team scaling that engine from Malaysia.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform day-to-day accounting operations including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and General Ledger (GL) postings.
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices, payments, receipts, and journal entries.
  • Prepare and review bank and inventory reconciliations and resolve discrepancies promptly.
  • Support month-end and year-end closing activities, including accruals, reconciliations, and preparation of financial reports.
  • Monitor and follow up on outstanding receivables to ensure timely collection.
  • Liaise with vendors, customers, and internal teams to resolve payment and billing issues.
  • Assist in preparing audit schedules and supporting documentation for external audits.
  • Support tax filing and compliance activities by preparing working schedules and required documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and company policies.
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and accuracy in shared service operations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 1–2 years of relevant working experience, preferably in a Shared Services Centre or multinational company.
  • Familiarity with ERP/accounting systems (Quickbook and Xero) is an advantage.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets (basic functions such as vlookup, pivot tables, and charts).
  • Good command of English; additional language skills (Mandarin/Cantonese) are a plus.
  • E-commerce industry (Big Seller and Site Giant) experience is a plus.
