Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Management
- Provide direct supervision, coaching, and mentorship to nursing staff.
- Coordinate daily operations to ensure effective workflow, adequate staffing, and safe patient care.
- Foster a positive work environment that promotes teamwork, professional growth, and employee engagement.
- Participate in recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and performance evaluations.
Clinical Oversight
- Ensure the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based nursing care.
- Support clinical decision-making and intervene in complex or emergent situations.
- Maintain competency in clinical skills relevant to the unit.
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
Administrative & Operational Management
- Develop and manage staffing schedules, ensuring appropriate skill mix and coverage.
- Monitor department budgets, resource utilization, and supply management.
- Maintain accurate documentation, reports, and records.
Quality & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, state and federal regulations, and accreditation standards.
- Lead quality improvement initiatives, patient safety programs, and audits.
- Investigate incidents, implement corrective actions, and track quality metrics.
- Promote infection control and safety practices.
Communication & Collaboration
- Act as a liaison between staff, leadership, and other departments.
- Conduct regular staff meetings and communicate updates on policies, procedures, and organizational goals.
- Represent the unit in cross-departmental committees and leadership meetings.
QualificationsEducation
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Master's degree in Nursing or Healthcare Administration preferred.
Experience
- Minimum of 3–5 years of clinical nursing experience.
- Previous leadership or charge nurse experience strongly preferred.
Licensure & Certifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
- BLS, ACLS, LGM & APC or other specialty-specific certifications as required.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong leadership, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and make sound decisions under pressure.
- Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) and basic computer applications.
- Knowledge of regulatory standards (e.g., Joint Commission, CMS).
Job Type: Full-time
