We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Creative Design Lecturer specializing in Video Production and Animation to join our School of Communication and Creative Design. As a Creative Design Lecturer, you will be responsible for delivering engaging lectures, developing course materials, and providing hands-on guidance to students pursuing degrees in communication and creative design. Your expertise in video production and animation will play a crucial role in fostering students' creativity and enhancing their technical skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver high-quality lectures, workshops, and practical sessions on creative design, with a focus on video production and animation.
  • Create engaging course materials, including presentations, assignments, and assessment criteria, to effectively convey the concepts and techniques of video production and animation.
  • Provide guidance and constructive feedback to students to help them improve their technical skills and creativity in video production and animation.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, tools, and software related to video production and animation, and incorporate them into the curriculum to ensure the relevance of the courses.
  • Assist in curriculum development and program enhancement, considering the evolving needs of the communication and creative design fields.
  • Encourage and foster an environment that stimulates critical thinking, collaboration, and innovation among students.
  • Mentor and support students in their projects, portfolios, and overall academic progress.
  • Engage in professional development activities, such as attending conferences, workshops, and industry events, to enhance personal expertise and contribute to the advancement of the department.

Requirements:

  • A master's degree or higher in a relevant field, such as Communication, Design, Animation, or a related discipline. Practitioners who are currently pursuing a master's degree in a relevant field are encouraged to apply.
  • Extensive experience and expertise in video production and animation, with a demonstrated portfolio of creative work.
  • Proficiency in industry-standard software and tools for video editing, animation, and motion graphics (e.g., Adobe Creative Cloud, Blender, Maya, Final Cut Pro, etc.).
  • Prior teaching or training experience in a similar role, preferably at the higher education level would be a plus.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and motivate students.
  • A passion for staying updated with industry trends, technological advancements, and emerging practices in video production and animation.
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for aesthetics and design principles.
  • Organizational and time management skills to effectively plan and deliver lectures, assess student work, and meet deadlines.
  • Commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive learning environment.
