Job Summary:

We are seeking a compassionate Physiotherapist with a strong interest in or experience with hippotherapy. This role blends traditional physiotherapeutic techniques with the therapeutic use of horse movement to support patients in improving balance, coordination, strength, and sensory integration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess, plan, and implement individualized treatment plans for patients with diverse physical needs.
  • Utilize hippotherapy as a treatment tool, integrating equine movement into patient care under a clinical framework.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, riding instructors, and veterinarians.
  • Maintain accurate patient records, treatment progress notes, and outcome measurements.
  • Educate clients, families, and caregivers about therapeutic goals and home care strategies.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of patients, horses, and team members during hippotherapy sessions.
  • Participate in professional development and training specific to both physiotherapy and equine-assisted therapy.

Qualifications:

  • Diplomaor Degree in Physiotherapy
  • Experience working with pediatric and/or neurologically impaired clients is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Comfortable working in outdoor and equine environments.

Desirable Traits:

  • Passion for holistic and innovative therapeutic practices.
  • Confidence around horses and familiarity with equine behavior.
  • Ability to work flexibly and collaboratively within a team setting.
