Operations Manager

About the company

Our client oversees and runs a variety of dining and entertainment venues, including restaurants, lounges, bars, and other refreshment- focused outlets. Beyond its network of establishments, the company is also involved in the production, marketing, and distribution of an extensive selection of food items along with both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. The company is based in KL.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Planning & Execution

• Develop and implement operational strategies to support company's business goals, including revenue growth, efficiency improvement, and outlet expansion.
• Identify new business opportunities, potential outlet locations, and process enhancements to improve performance.
• Support pre-opening planning for new outlets, including setup, team hiring, training, and operational readiness.
• Collaborate with suppliers and business partners (including international sourcing and product development teams) to ensure smooth operations and brand consistency.

2. Operational Management

• Oversee daily F&B operations across all outlets to ensure high standards of food quality, service, hygiene, and customer satisfaction.
• Supervise and support outlet managers, ensuring operational discipline, team coordination, and adherence to SOPs.
• Monitor key operational metrics such as sales performance, table turnover rate, average transaction value, and customer feedback.
• Ensure effective communication between HQ and outlet teams to align on targets, initiatives, and process updates.

3. Financial & Performance Management

• Manage overall P&L for outlets, ensuring sales targets are met and costs are controlled efficiently.
• Track and optimize food cost, labour cost, and wastage levels through proactive planning and monitoring.
• Review sales reports, cost breakdowns, and productivity data to identify improvement opportunities.
• Ensure accurate operational documentation and reporting for management review.

4. Team Leadership & Development

• Lead, train, and mentor outlet management teams (Operations Executives, Outlet Managers, and Kitchen Leaders).
• Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and performance excellence.
• Conduct regular performance reviews, identify training needs, and implement staff development plans.
• Support manpower planning, recruitment, and scheduling to ensure adequate coverage and productivity.

5. Quality, Compliance & Documentation

• Ensure all outlets comply with food safety, hygiene, and operational SOPs.
• Maintain and update operational documents, licenses, and permits in line with regulatory requirements.
• Conduct routine audits and inspections to ensure brand consistency and operational compliance.
• Implement corrective actions where necessary and ensure continuous improvement across all outlets.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree / Diploma in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of F&B management experience, preferably in multi-outlet or chain restaurant operations.
• Proven track record in operational planning, cost control, and team leadership.
• Strong understanding of restaurant systems, POS, inventory management, and P&L analysis.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work on-site at outlets and travel between locations as required.
• Proficient in English and Bahasa Malaysia; Mandarin proficiency is an advantage.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays when necessary.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: RM6, RM9,500.00 per month
