SynVista Energy is expanding our manufacturing footprint in Malaysia, and we're looking for a hands-on Finance Manager with new plant set-up experience. This is a rare, high-impact opportunity to build the entire finance function from 0 to 10 — systems, processes, controls, and strategy — for a fast-growing renewable energy company. No existing team, maximum ownership.

Key Responsibilities:

1) Financial Reporting & Compliance

  • Prepare monthly/annual financial statements and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Manage audits and establish strong financial control frameworks.

2) Build-from-Scratch Plant Finance Operations

  • Set up all finance processes, SOPs, and internal controls for a new manufacturing site.
  • Establish cost tracking, inventory accounting, capex controls, and operational finance workflows.

3) Microsoft Dynamics Implementation

  • Lead the implementation and optimization of Microsoft Dynamics for the Malaysia plant.
  • Train cross-functional teams and improve automation and reporting accuracy.

4) Budgeting & Financial Analysis

  • Develop budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial models.
  • Monitor variances and provide insights to drive profitability and efficiency.

5) Plant Operations & Cost Management

  • Oversee production costs, inventory levels, and capex performance.
  • Partner with operations on cost-saving initiatives and supply chain decisions.

6) Cash Flow & Treasury

  • Manage cash flow, working capital, and banking relationships.

7) Leadership & Collaboration

  • Work closely with operations, procurement, and senior management.
  • Build and develop a finance team as the plant scales.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Finance/Accounting; CPA/ACCA/CFA preferred.
  • 7+ years in financial management, ideally in manufacturing or plant operations.
  • Strong experience in new plant or factory set-up (0–1 or 0–10 environments).
  • Expertise in cost accounting, management reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Dynamics; implementation experience is a plus.
  • Experience working with Malaysia and China business environments is an advantage.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Bilingual in English and Mandarin.
