Skills and Experience

We are looking for an educator who demonstrates:

  • Subject Expertise: Strong knowledge of the Key Stage 1-3 and IGCSE Mandarin curriculum, with the ability to teach engaging lessons covering listening, speaking, reading, and writing.
  • Student-Centered Teaching: Ability to personalize lessons to meet the developmental needs of students transitioning from Key Stage 2 and progressing toward Key Stage 4.
  • Effective Assessment: Proficient in a variety of assessment methods to monitor student progress and inform instructional planning.
  • Cross-Disciplinary Understanding: Awareness of how Mandarin integrates with other subject areas and supports broader academic development.
  • Engagement Strategies: Skills to foster curiosity, collaboration, and independent thinking in young learners.

Requirements

Qualifications and Development

  • A recognized teaching qualification and an Honours degree in Mandarin Language or a related discipline.
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development and commitment to reflective practice.

Knowledge and Expertise

  • Deep understanding of the Key Stage 3 Mandarin curriculum and progression toward IGCSE.
  • Familiarity with the English National Curriculum and strategies for supporting EAL learners.
  • Experience in planning and delivering lessons and assessments that encourage inquiry-based learning and problem-solving skills.
