A diversified organization with regional operations is seeking a tax professional to support its tax functions. This role is based in Malaysia and involves managing tax compliance, reporting, and advisory activities across multiple business units, with exposure to international tax developments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review periodic tax provisions, including deferred and current tax calculations.
  • Oversee statutory tax filings and submissions, including income tax, indirect taxes, and other regulatory forms.
  • Assist in preparing documentation for transfer pricing, cross-border reporting, and emerging global tax frameworks.
  • Identify tax planning opportunities and implement strategies to enhance tax efficiency while ensuring compliance.
  • Act as a point of contact for tax authorities during audits and inquiries, and provide internal advisory support to stakeholders.
  • Lead or contribute to tax-related projects and initiatives as assigned by senior leadership.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline; professional certification (e.g. ACCA, CPA) is an advantage.
  • 5-6 years of experience in corporate tax or related areas.
  • Strong understanding of tax principles and accounting fundamentals.
  • Experience in supervising junior team members and managing deliverables.
  • Effective communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia, both written and spoken.
