R&D Officer

We are seeking a talented R&D officer to assist with the design and testing of our new range of furniture products. In this role, you will be working closely with the team to create functional design concepts, test existing designs, and oversee the implementation of development products. You may also be spearheading the redesign of existing products.
Key Responsibilities:
- To meet with marketing to discuss new product design or modification requirements.
- To collaborate with production and marketing on product feasibility.
- To redesign existing products to enhance functionality or reduce costs.
- To design and provide drawings and manage the list of drawings of the Company's products. From here, calculate the cost of producing the product and the materials required.
- To produce product drawings, including technical drawings for production usage.
- To oversee the production of new product samples or prototypes. This also includes the packaging needs. From here, the Assembly Instruction is then prepared.
- To review and test samples for functionality, ease of use, and longevity.
- To liaise with the production and QC departments in resolving product issues.
- To acquire the necessary skills and knowledge to the level of competence to achieve the level of efficiency to work in the R&D department.
Requirements:
- Degree in engineering, design, or a relevant field.
- 1+ years of experience as an R&D officer is favorable.
- In-depth knowledge of furniture engineering/manufacturing is favorable.
- Proficient with computer design software, including AutoCAD.
- Marketing and design experience preferred.
- Ability to translate design concepts into physical objects.
