JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • To teach courses delivered by the Department and as required, to teach on associated programmed offered by the university.
  • To supervise student projects and assist them in understanding assignment requirements.
  • Design and execute formative and summative assessment including marking that is aligned with student learning outcomes.
  • Provide feedback to students on their learning through student consultations.
  • Conduct research in areas as per discussion with Dean/Head of Department.
  • Publish papers and present papers at local and international conferences.
  • Other duties within the Department and University as required.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • A PhD or at least a Master's Degree in the following field;

  • Economics

  • Marketing

  • Statistics/ Actuarial Science/ IT

  • At least 4-5 years working experience as an academic at the tertiary level.

  • Experience in supervising students' academic research/ dissertation at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level.
  • Published academic research in ranked journals.
  • A strong knowledge of the subject area combined with a broad subject background enabling contributions to teaching programmed
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Knowledge of MQA standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and others.
