C&S CLERK OF WORKS

Job Description

  • Responsible for the supervision & monitoring of constructions works in accordance with the contracts & construction drawings especially in respect of specifications, quality & time of completion
  • To inspect & monitor at all times each stage of construction works including foundation, architectural, structural & infrastructure works
  • To ensure that all materials delivered to site are conform to the approved specifications and the project's inspection test plan
  • To identify all remedial/outstanding works to be carried out & to ensure that those works are carried out by the contractors within the time stipulated in the contracts
  • To assists the Project Manager in the review of plans, specifications & designs submitted by contractors, architects or engineers
  • To liaise with relevant parties on construction drawings, liaise with contractor, site engineer & Project Manager to resolve site issues
  • To carry out standing supervision & check that all construction are in compliance with construction drawings and specifications
  • To enforce QA/QC & keep record of all QA/QC matters
  • To attend site meetings, coordination meeting with the main contractor and nominated sub-contractor & also to attend management meeting (if necessary)
  • Upon completion of work, to carry out final inspections and handovers including ensuring that all as-built drawings are prepared & a copy kept with relevant superiors prior to issuance of Certificate of Practical Completion (CPC) and Certificate of Completion & Compliance (CCC)
  • To carry out post inspection works & coordinate with Contractor on defects and to issue memo on non-compliance & defect works
  • To be able to identify & coordinate with Contractor on stage payment claims
  • To prepare daily site report and take site photos and prepare weekly update site progress report to management
  • To coordinate with architectural IOW and M&E IOW for drawing discrepancies and report site issues.
  • Any other adhoc duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • Candidate must possess at least a Diploma in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Building Technology or related disciplines
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant working experience with developers (preferably in Housing Supervision) or consultants
  • Candidates with experience in Building are preferred
  • Must be technically competent in both building & infrastructure works
  • Positive outlook, highly-motivated, team player and able to work under pressure
  • Able to liaise with the consultants & authorities and monitor the site progress & quality control independently to ensure that the project's requirement as expressed in the drawings/tender documents are properly executed
  • Good command of English (both written and spoken)
  • Ability to converse in Chinese Language (Mandarin/Hakka) & Malay is an advantage
  • Ability to commence work in short notice would be an advantage
  • Possess valid driving license and own transport
