About the role

As the Electronics Category Manager, you will play a strategic role in driving the company's procurement and inventory management for its electronics product portfolio. Based in Selangor, this full-time position will involve overseeing the end-to-end category management lifecycle to ensure optimum product availability, cost-effectiveness, and alignment with the company's commercial objectives.

What you'll be doing

  • Develop and implement category management strategies to improve efficiency, profitability, and competitiveness of the electronics product range
  • Analyse market trends, competitor activities, and customer demand to identify opportunities for category growth and optimisation
  • Negotiate favourable terms with suppliers, including pricing, delivery, and quality agreements
  • Manage the procurement and inventory planning processes to maintain appropriate stock levels and minimise excess or obsolete inventory
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with sales, marketing, and finance teams to align category plans with the overall business strategy
  • Monitor and report on category performance metrics, making data-driven recommendations for continuous improvement
  • Provide subject matter expertise and guidance to the broader procurement team

What we're looking for

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a category management or procurement role, preferably within the electronics or technology industry
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed, strategic decisions
  • Previous experience from lifescience or lab instruments industry will be advantageous.
  • Experience dealing with centrifuges and vacuum concentrators, freezers, biological shakers and CO₂ incubators, thermocyclers & mixer
  • Proven track record of successful supplier negotiations and contract management
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate cross-functionally
  • Familiarity with supply chain best practices, inventory management, and logistics
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field
