Assistant Manager of Student Experience oversees the day-to-day running of the Student Services department and performs a variety of coordination and administrative duties to provide effective and efficient services and ensure a positive student experience. He/she oversees the well-being of students on campus and off-site when taking part in intervarsity activities

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, execute, and oversee the budget for approved student activities in the year.
  • Manage students through visible relations and student care programmes.
  • Enhance the involvement of students and integrate both local and international students
  • Liaise with other external student bodies, associations, and universities on collaborative Projects and sports meets and such like.
  • Handle student disciplinary matters, including investigating complaints and conducting hearings when necessary.
  • Drive and implement all approved Student activities and events. Guide students in their student club activities and turn them into active hubs of ideas and community services
  • Promote student involvement in extracurricular activities to enhance campus life and foster community engagement.
  • Organising Orientation programmes for new student intakes.
  • Assist students in securing financial support, and scholarships, particularly through PTPTN loans or KWSP withdrawals.
  • Plan and oversee student events, activities, and clubs, ensuring they align with college's mission and values.
  • Promote student involvement in extracurricular activities to enhance campus life and foster community engagement.
  • Accompany and chaperone students when doing external and/or community projects.
  • Bridge relations between the student body and management
  • Develop and implement programs that promote student well-being, including mental health initiatives, diversity and inclusion efforts, and peer mentoring programs.
  • Ensure the welfare of students by addressing their needs and concerns in a timely manner.

a) Student Journey

  • Coordinates and administers student support through enrolment, to completing their studies, graduating, continuing their learning, and keeping in touch as an alumnus.

b) Student Welfare

  • Counsels and confers with students, providing program procedures, policies, goals, and objectives, technical guidance, and problem resolution.
  • Oversee the delivery of significant aspects of the counselling services' strategic and operational plan.

c) Student Accommodation

  • Oversee the operations of student accommodation, including safety, security, and comfort standards
  • Coordinate with the maintenance team to address maintenance issues promptly and efficiently.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in administrative roles, specifically in student affairs and student services within an academic setting.
  • Strong multitasking abilities with a proven track record of meeting deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including proficiency in giving presentations.
  • Ability to effectively engage with students, parents, staff, and other stakeholders.
  • Strong organisational and leadership skills.
  • A customer-focused attitude with a passion for assisting students.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment when handling diverse situations and solving complex issues.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Fluent in English and Bahasa Malaysia, with Mandarin as an added advantage.
