Tanco Holdings Berhad ("Tanco") was incorporated in 1958 and listed on the Main Market of Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad in 1961. From its early days in the rubber and oil palm industries, Tanco has since successfully grown a diversified portfolio to include property development, real estate sales, property financing, construction, supply and trading of building materials, port development and pharmaceutical products.
We are looking for a dynamic and detail-oriented Finance Assistant Manager to support and lead key Group finance functions including quarterly and yearly group consolidation, financial reports, budgeting, tax, financial analysis and forecast for property development, other business segments and new investments.
Job Description:
Group Financial & Management Reporting
- Prepare and consolidate monthly, quarterly and annual Group financial reports in accordance with MFRS/IFRS and Bursa Malaysia Listing Requirements
- Support the preparation of Bursa announcements, annual reports and circulars
- Perform financial analysis, variance analysis and provide management insights
- Liaise with auditors, company secretary and external stakeholders
Group Budgeting & Forecasting
- Coordinate annual budget and periodic forecast at Group level
- Work closely with business units to review and challenge assumption
- Monitor budget performance and investigate variances
Group Taxation
- Assist in tax planning, compliance and submission of tax returns
- Liaise with tax agents and manage tax audits / queries from authorities
- Monitor changes in tax regulations and assess impact on the Group
Corporate Finance
- Support corporate activities in acquisitions, mergers, disposals and new investments
- Assist in due diligence, financial modelling and valuation
- Prepare investment papers and board submissions
Lead Finance Operations – Property Development & New Investments
- Oversee finance operations for property development projects and new business ventures
- Monitor project costs, cash flow and profitability
- Support project feasibility studies and funding requirements
- Work closely with project, legal and commercial teams
Sustainability, Risk Management & SOP
- Support ESG / sustainability reporting and data compilation
- Identify and assess financial and operational risks
- Develop, review and improve finance-related SOPs and internal controls
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements
General Responsibilities
- Ensure accuracy and timeliness of all financial data
- Support ad-hoc analysis and assignments as required by Management
- Mentor junior team members when required
Requirements:
- Degree in Accounting, Finance or professional qualification (ACCA, CIMA, CPA, ICAEW or equivalent)
- Minimum 4 to 7 years of relevant experience
- Experience in group reporting and consolidation
- Strong knowledge of accounting standards (IFRS/MFRS)
- Knowledge of Bursa Malaysia Listing Requirements is preferred
- Experience in property development / construction industry is an added advantage
- Experience in audit firm will be added advantage.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Proficient in MS Excel and accounting systems
- Able to work independently and manage tight deadlines
