JOB PURPOSE

Provides support and assistance to the Tax Manager in handling the tax compliance matters of the Company including analyzing and preparation of information for income tax and service tax purposes, attending to the information requested by the tax authorities as well as internal stakeholders and other ad hoc tax tasks.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Prepare analyses for the preparation of the tax returns, including but not limited to compilation and extraction of information/ supporting documents, downloading and analyzing the report from the accounting software.
  • Assist in attending to the request for information from the tax authorities, including liaising with the tax authorities.
  • Assist in preparation of information for the preparation of the transfer pricing documentation.
  • Liaise with various departments in the Company to collate information and supporting documents for tax matters.
  • To support and assist the Tax Manager in all tax matters including but not limited to tax advisory, tax planning and preparation of transfer pricing documentation.
  • Execution of any other job responsibilities as and when required by the superior/ the management from time to time.
  • Manage the filing of documents in a timely and organised manner.
  • Keep abreast with the tax development and contribute to continuous improvement

COMPETENCIES

  • Knowledgeable in Malaysian income tax laws and regulations.
  • Good understanding in service tax laws and regulations will be an added advantage.
  • Knowledge of SAP accounting systems will be an added advantage.
  • Attention to details and strong analytical skill.
  • Possess high integrity, self-motivated and able to work independently with minimum supervision.
  • A good team player and have a positive attitude.
  • Good communication skills, both written and oral.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree in Accountancy or Professional Accounting or equivalent.
  • A member of a recognised professional accounting/ taxation body will be an added advantage.

EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE

  • Minimum of 4-5 years of tax experience in tax accounting firm and/or in the in-house tax department.
  • Good understanding of tax regulations and practices.
  • Have experience with dealing with the tax authorities.
