With a strong track record in value creation and increasing investor momentum, the firm is establishing a deeper presence in Malaysia. As part of this strategic expansion, it is seeking to appoint a
Managing Director in Kuala Lumpur
— its
first senior investment hire in the market
.

This is a rare opportunity to build and lead the Malaysia franchise of a high-performing private equity platform and shape the firm's deal pipeline and reputation in the country's middle-market landscape.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead market coverage and origination efforts for Malaysia, developing proprietary deal flow through strong relationships with founders, corporates, advisors, and intermediaries.
  • Drive end-to-end investment execution including evaluation, structuring, due diligence, financial modelling, and investment committee presentations.
  • Oversee value creation initiatives for portfolio companies, partnering directly with founders and management teams to accelerate growth and implement operational improvements.
  • Represent the firm in Malaysia, strengthening market presence, brand reputation, and ecosystem partnerships.
  • Contribute to regional investment discussions, fundraising efforts, and broader strategy as part of the senior leadership team.
  • Mentor and develop junior investment staff as the KL office grows, setting a high-performance, collaborative culture.

Experience Required

  • 12–20+ years of experience in private equity, investment banking, corporate development, or principal investing, ideally with exposure to
    Malaysia's mid-market
    .
  • Proven track record in origination — strong relationships with Malaysian business owners, family groups, advisors, and corporate leaders.
  • Demonstrated experience leading transactions, negotiating terms, and driving deal execution.
  • Hands-on approach with portfolio management, strategy execution, and value creation.
  • Strong leadership presence with the maturity to represent the firm in a new market.
  • Malaysia-based candidates preferred; regional candidates with strong Malaysia networks will also be considered.
