About the role

HFC Tech Sdn Bhd is seeking a skilled and experienced Thermal Application Engineer (TIM) to join our dynamic team in Kota Damansara, Selangor. As a Thermal Application Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the design, development, and optimisation of thermal management solutions for our cutting-edge products. This is a full-time position that offers opportunities for growth and development within a rapidly expanding engineering organisation.

What you'll be doing

  • Perform Thermal Analysis and Simulations of Semiconductor Devices and Packaging using tools such as ANSYS Icepak, COSMOL, or Flotherm.
  • Evaluate and select appropriate Thermal Interface Materials (TIMs) for high-performance thermal management.
  • Design and execute experiments to measure thermal resistance, bond-line thickness, and material degradation under thermal cycling or aging.
  • Work closely with Production, Research & Development Team & Material Science Team to support the development and optimization of new TIM solutions.
  • Provide Technical Support to Production Support Team and External Customers on TIM Applications, reliability, concerns and thermal troubleshooting.
  • Develop applications guidelines, datasheets, and technical documentation for TIM materials and best practices.
  • Interface with manufacturing and process engineering teams to ensure reliable application of TIMs in production environments.
  • Support customer qualification and collaborate on root cause analysis for thermal failures or performance issues.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Thermal Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in thermal management, heat transfer, or thermal interface materials
  • Strong understanding of thermal analysis, simulation, and testing methodologies
  • Proficiency in using thermal analysis software tools (e.g., ANSYS, COMSOL, or equivalent)
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • A MUST be able to speak, read and write in English & Bahasa Malaysia.
  • A MUST be able to travel regionally or internationally as required for client support, testing, or project deployment
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to thermal management
