About the Role

We are looking for a dedicated Application Support Engineer to join our technology operations team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, support, and optimization of business-critical applications. This role involves troubleshooting, system monitoring, and working closely with internal teams to ensure smooth application performance and minimal downtime.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide daily operation and maintenance support for business-related applications.
  • Diagnose, analyze, and resolve application and system failures promptly.
  • Respond to and troubleshoot user inquiries, issues, and service requests.
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement preventive measures to reduce system incidents.
  • Support database operations including basic administration, monitoring, and SQL query tuning.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, vendors, and technical teams to ensure timely issue resolution.
  • Participate in application deployment, configuration, and upgrade activities.
  • Provide on-call support during off-hours or night shifts as required.
  • Prepare and maintain support documentation, SOPs, and incident reports.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Information Management, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related fields.
  • 1–3 years of working experience in application support, system operations, or software development.
  • Hands-on experience with:
  • Java applications
  • Oracle Database and SQL
  • Basic database management or performance tuning experience is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Experience working with multiple stakeholders to resolve issues and drive alignment.
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written); proficiency in Mandarin is an added advantage.
  • A self-motivated, fast learner who can work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willing to support nightshift / on-call duty as needed.

Job Type: Contract

Contract length: 12 months

Pay: RM5, RM6,500.00 per month
