Are you an experienced finance talent ready to step into a dynamic industry? GSC is looking for a Senior Executive, Finance to join our finance team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to take ownership of core finance functions for GSC Movies primarily Accounts Payable (AP) and General Ledger (GL) while contributing to the financial excellence of one of Malaysia's leading film distribution company.

Key Responsibilities

As our Senior Finance Executive,you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and efficiency of our financial operations. Supporting the AP and GL for GSC Movies, your responsibilities will span across accounting, financial reporting and compliance, contributing to informed decision-making and supporting the continued growth of the GSC Group of Companies.

Accounts Payable (AP):

  • Process vendor invoices with accuracy and timeliness.
  • Match invoices with purchase orders and receipts.
  • Ensure all payments comply with company authorization policies.
  • Prepare and schedule weekly and monthly payment runs.
  • Maintain up-to-date and accurate AP transaction records.
  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Communicate with vendors regarding payment inquiries or issues.
  • Support AP-related month-end closing activities.
  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations.

General Ledger (GL):

  • Post journal entries and ensure transactions follow accounting standards.
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts and investigate variances.
  • Assist in month-end and year-end close procedures.
  • Maintain the fixed asset register and track depreciation.
  • Contribute to the preparation of financial statements and management reports.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation and explanations.
What We're Looking For:
  • A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience in Accounts Payable and General Ledger functions.
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial workflows.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and strong Excel skills.
  • High attention to detail with excellent organizational abilities.
  • Effective communication skills and a collaborative problem-solving approach.
