Responsibilities:

  • Source materials and negotiate prices, manage contracts
  • Oversee projects and tenders to ensure timely procurement.
  • Handle daily purchasing tasks such as processing purchase requests, obtaining quotes, negotiating prices, conducting open bids, comparing options, preparing purchase approvals, and processing payments for review and approval by management.
  • Manage purchase orders and payments, ensuring accuracy in terms of shipping, delivery, and pricing.
  • Review purchasing procedures regularly
  • Issue purchase orders and liaise with suppliers to negotiate favorable payment terms.
  • Coordinate with suppliers to track order progress, manage shipment clearances, and resolve urgent matters when they arise.
  • Utilize effective negotiation skills to build and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors.

Qualification requirements

  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Business Admin , Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • At least 2-3 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management, advantageous if with in the glass manufacturing industry experiences
  • Ability to speak and write fluently in Mandarin, Malay, and English.
  • Required Mandarin languages skills to communicate with both internal & external parties
  • Able to perform overtime to troubleshoot urgent/emergency matters.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Knowledge of parts and equipment/machinery used in glass manufacturing is an advantage.
  • Proficient in MS Excel, Power Point, and Microsoft Word.
