Reports to: R&D Manager/Director

Job Summary:
The R&D Executive plays a crucial role in driving innovation and continuous improvement within the organization. This position involves managing research projects, developing new products or improving existing ones, and ensuring that the company's offerings stay competitive in the market. The R&D Executive works closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, production, and quality assurance, to bring ideas from concept to commercialization.

Key Responsibilities:
• Assist R&D Manager in leading the team on research to maintain existing product quality and new product formulation.
• Update the latest information on functional ingredients and source new materials for product development purposes.
• Research and develop new materials in biotechnology and nutritional base.
• Liaise with external laboratories, consultants, test methods, cost, and contracts.
• Monitor incoming materials to ensure they meet specifications.
• Evaluate the service and performance of external laboratories and assess contracts for renewal.
• Coordinate with local and overseas university research centers.
• Monitor the production checklist.
• Assist R&D Manager in providing marketing support.
• Conduct market trend analysis regarding costing, branding duration, and market strategies.
• Provide product training to sales team members.
• Provide product information to strategize unique selling points.
• Support customers in marketing events such as recognition events, product training, and product talks.
• Conduct product costing analysis to fulfill market requirements.
• Lead the marketing team in developing marketing materials including brochures, leaflets, posters, and social media write-ups.
• Provide all necessary information for product packaging design.
• Follow up on customer feedback and complaints.
• Assist in project arrangements in the absence of the R&D Manager.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Chemistry, Engineering, Biotechnology, or related disciplines.
• Proven experience in a research and development role, preferably in a similar industry.
• Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Proficient in using R&D software, tools, and technologies.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal in Bahasa Malaysia, English, and Mandarin (will be an advantage).
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards related to product development.

Preferred Skills:
• Experience in product formulation and development.
• Familiarity with patent processes and intellectual property management.
• Strong background in data analysis and statistical tools.
• Experience with innovative and sustainable product development.

Working Conditions:
• Primarily office-based with some laboratory or plant visits required.
• May require occasional travel to conferences, suppliers, or other company sites.
