Lead and steer the SC activities for the RBU within Asia Pacific (20 of regional teams based in Singapore and countries, plus 8 functional reports at sub-regions and global BEXs).

Develop and update APA SC Strategy in line with Global AP SC Strategy and APA Business Strategy.

Initiate and lead strategic SC projects to drive continuous improvements in SC performances and compliance management.

Manage supply and production planning and execution for products supplied from own sites, contract manufacturers and from other regions to ensure timely supply at optimum inventory and cost.

Act as a single point of contact for all SC related issues within the region and towards other region/ global teams.

Ensure SCM competency, succession planning and people development are in place and drive implementation.

Main Areas of Responsibilities and Key Activities

  1. Develop and regularly update APA Supply Chain strategy to align with APA Business and Global AP SC strategies in collaboration with relevant regional and global functions and countries.
  2. Facilitate annual strategic dialogues with relevant corporate functions to agree on service levels based on RBU and customers’ requirements.
  3. Drive Cash & Value Steering initiatives in Supply Chain.

Performance Management

  1. Periodically review SC KPIs to identify key areas of improvement (gaps), put action in place and drive implementation of action plan to address the identified gaps and achieve agreed targets.
  2. Collaborate with relevant business functions to initiate and drive improvement in terms of process efficiency, non-conformance management (in SC areas), cost reductions and compliance against applicable local regulations and BASF requirements.

People and Organization Management

  1. Develop and align SC organizations (both in Region and Countries), competencies and ensure succession planning for key roles are in place to sustainably support the delivery of RBU and Global SC Strategies.
  2. Set measurable targets to monitor team’s performance.
  3. Lead and manage Regional and Country SC teams (functionally).

Continuous Improvement and Projects

  1. Drive implementation of key initiatives to improve process efficiency, effectiveness, and consistency (RS&OP, Demand Planning, Supply, Production and Distribution Planning, master data management and Order to Cash).
  2. Identify and update risks in SCM areas (as part of APA Risk Management process), put measures and implement action plan to mitigate risks.
  3. Initiate/ Lead and drive implementation of strategy SC related projects.

Communication

  1. Lead the SC communication process from regional to local level within the RBU to ensure aligned objectives and regionally and globally driven projects/ initiatives are implemented as planned.
  2. Facilitate best-practice sharing and replication in SC in collaboration with relevant teams in countries, region and global.

Demand Planning

  1. Proactively support and challenge (as appropriate) commercial stakeholders to drive forecast accuracy improvement through demand planning process.
  2. Drive key initiatives to improve demand planning review process in countries to ensure good quality sales forecast.

Supply Planning and S&OP

  1. Ensure timely supply of products produced by own sites, tollers and other supplying region through implementation of supply planning process and communication with relevant teams/ stakeholders.
  2. Monitor product availability, alert relevant stakeholders timely in case of shortages/ excess, work closely with relevant teams to manage product allocation.
  3. Participate, support RBU Head to run and improve Regional S & OP process.
  4. Define and regularly review distribution strategy to ensure alignment with RBU business strategy through collaboration with relevant corporate functions and teams in country/ region/ global.

Inventory Management

  1. Manage inventory situation within the region to ensure agreed target is achieved i.e, including initiation of required actions in case of deviation from agreed targets.
  2. Initiate and lead stock optimization initiatives e.g., aged stock, slow/ no mover, safety stock, etc.

Job Requirements

  1. Master’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain or Logistics Management.
  2. ~ 12 years of relevant experience, with leadership and project management.
  3. Strong knowledge of SCM operations, Performance management. Business understanding and SAP knowledge are strong advantages.
