Security Operations Centre (SOC) Manager

Salary range: CI$81,252 to CI$109,296 per annum

The Security Operations Centre (SOC) Manager has the overarching responsibility for overseeing the operations of the enterprise’s security solutions through management of the organization’s SOC function, the SOC Team, and outsourced vendors, whilst ensuring that the SOC achieves its critical mandate to safeguard HSA’s IT and digital systems and the data entrusted. Secondary tasks will include the selection of appropriate security solutions, and oversight of any vulnerability audits and assessments.

Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Responsible for the effective and efficient operation of the SOC, ensuring it meets its cyber safeguarding and protection mandate.
  2. Develop measurement capabilities and metrics to track and communicate performance, coverage, and risk.
  3. Provide security risk mitigation through security analysis, triage and escalation procedures, workflows, and tasks.
  4. Ensure appropriate action is taken to prevent and thwart cyber-attacks or data breach attempts.
  5. Continuously improve the SOC function through re-engineering processes and utilizing tool-based capabilities in line with best practices.
  6. Create, maintain, and ensure adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) by the SOC Team.
  7. Provide leadership for near-miss and ‘after-the-event’ forensic investigations, driving the adoption of preventive measures.
  8. Act on Cyber Threat Intelligence (CTI) shared by the Government’s Cyber Security Office and share detected CTI with counterparts.

Qualifications and Experience:

The successful candidate should possess a Bachelor of Science Degree in Cyber Security, Computer Science, Information Technology, or similar AND at least two professional information security certifications: ISC2 CISSP, ISACA CISM, EC-Council CEH, SANS GCFA, SANS GMON, CISCO CCNA, CISCO CCNP. A Master’s Degree in Cyber Security, Information Technology, Business Information Systems, Technology, or similar is highly desirable. Additionally, the candidate should have ten (10) years’ postgraduate work experience in Cyber Security, Information Technology, Telecommunications, or a similar sector, with at least five (5) years’ experience in a leadership role. Prior experience in a Network Operations Centre (NOC) or Security Operations Centre (SOC) is highly desirable. The candidate is required to be on-call 24x7x365 and to appoint a nominated Deputy.
