Job Title: Supplier Quality Development & Engineer

Location: Penang, Malaysia

Expectations from the Role

  • Support client buyers with New vendor development and New Product development activities
  • Manage day-to-day customer and supplier interactions.
  • Reporting progress, raising alerts as required, supplier query resolutions
  • Responsible for Management of related to, machined, plastic parts, assemblies & equipment.
  • Supplier identification / qualification and on-boarding
  • Supplier capacity assessment
  • Supplier audits
  • Program management during supply (progress reviews, performance reports, issues management etc.)
  • Supplier CAPA management
  • Learning and growth
  • Ability to quickly learn about items / machined components being developed.
  • Weekly MIS report preparation
  • Data analysis
  • Experience in customer handling.

Desired Competencies (Technical/Behavioral Competency)

Must-Have

  • Education – Mechanical/Production/Electrical/Electronic Engineering or Bachelor of Science
  • Ability to interact with internal / external customers on a regular basis and participate in review meetings.
  • Manufacturing industry experience in SQE/ Vendor development domain
  • Experience to work with various Tier 1, Tier 2 suppliers.
  • Experience on product development using PPAP, APQP methodology.
  • Detailed knowledge on industry materials, machine rates, machining operations, and processes such as machining, forging, casting, stamping, injection molding etc. and process tooling.
  • Ability to read and understand manufacturing drawings and technical specifications.
  • Good communication skills in English and local language
  • Ability to work with suppliers to for Quality Inspection / components development / Measuring Equipment’s.
  • Ability to read and understand manufacturing drawings, GD&T (ASME certification) and technical specifications.
  • Experience in supplier quality management, supplier technical assistance, new product development (NPD), vendor development, first article inspection (FAI)
  • Knowledge of special surface treatment process like anodizing, plating etc. and awareness on CQI process.
  • Should have experience of CMM handling, measuring, and interpreting the CMM reports.
