Job Role

 The Associate Director, Data, Insights and Analytics is a pivotal contributor to advancing data driven strategies, enhancing ICS risk management processes and providing top-tier analytics support.

The role involves overseeing and delivering the implementation of innovative data strategies and contributing to the teams commitment to excellence, requiring a seasoned professional with the capability to guide and drive to delivery towards achieving best in class results in the realm of analytics and risk management within CISO organization.

Key Responsibilities

Operational delivery the Data, Insights and Analytics initiatives within ICS Risk. Helping to oversee and challenge the execution of the ongoing delivery while actively pursuing opportunities to extend such initiatives beyond current scopes. Dynamic support on delivery of key strategic initiatives and deliverables. Developing and establishing improved management information and metrics offering for CISO. Support and help execute the overall management of the Data Insight and Analytics book of work, both in terms of individual initiative execution, and broader adoption of strategic initiative around CISO processes and optimalization. Developing and executing long term strategy and implementation plan for scaling the solution in various areas. Provide compilation of analysis and results in presentation format, complete with timely and actionable recommendations for implementation. Assisting to help implement opportunities to join closer with existing CISO enablement teams to drive effectiveness and create efficiency for CISO, avoiding duplication. Consistent implementation of Data, Insights & Analytics best practices throughout the ICS Risk. Participation and active challenge of the identified business requirements for ICS Risk tools / solutions to drive simplification and streamline the processes. Execute on custom application lifecycle management for embedded solutions. Identification, participate, drive development and implementation of dedicated ICS Risk tools / solutions.

Strategy

Supporting promotion of a business intelligence and analytics culture and use of analytics as a common language across ICS Risk; support embedding of data science principles and development of analytical capabilities throughout the function. Stakeholder Collaboration - Foster strong relationships with stakeholders across all three lines of defense to ensure data driven decision can be made. Engage with stakeholders to identify requirements and ensure that the ICS risk data insights and analytics meet business needs. Follow and consistently deliver on standardised approach to business intelligence and analytics between ICS Risk and other functions according to received directions. Cooperate with the Team and stakeholders to provide tailored tools and solutions that set the ICS Risk for success. Support the implementation of business intelligence and analytics solutions to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of ICS Risk Management.

Business

Act as a critical partner to the business in delivering actionable insights and data / analytics-based solutions to business needs and problems. Contribute to the overall capabilities of the Data, Insights and Analytics Team to provide best-in class service for the ICS Risk Management function. Contribute and drive creation of diversified data capabilities within Data Insight and Analytics team so that CISOs stakeholders can come up with useful information from data insights very quickly and with limited effort required.

Processes

Engage with business stakeholders across the ICS Risk, gather requirements and ensure that required data is available and properly used in the development process. Drive and lead tools / solutions development in compliance with gathered requirements and using provided data. Highlight any perceived risk and early alerts to the management based on data analytics. Establish and maintain sustainable process of the data quality validation and dashboards performance optimization. Prepare and / or contribute to regular updates for various committees and governance forums. Support the maintenance of previously developed tools / solutions to ensure their relevance and usefulness for stakeholders, including data validation and performance optimisation. Support the operational efficiency and process improvement through business intelligence and analytics as well as process automations and other improvements. Challenging status-quo by driving operational efficiency and process improvement through identification and elimination of unnecessary procedures and driving further automation where appropriate.

Provide proactive self-orienting and self-motivating leadership. Lead through example and build the appropriate culture and values. Work closely with colleagues and stakeholders to enhance the quality and timely delivery of agreed book of work.

Risk Management

Understand the Bank’s regulatory framework and regulatory requirements / expectations. Learn and understand the ICS Risk Management approach. Work closely with stakeholders to conform to required global standards and improve the overall risk management approach. Support proactive risk management over established key risk factors related to Data, Insights and Analytics remit and pan-CISO including timely identification and escalation of concentrations of risk. Support and drive development of the ongoing and periodic monitoring of risks mitigated to identify if risk mitigation actions taken have been effective. Develop MI to provide senior management with a view of the reduction of risk over time.

Governance

Ensure, lead and monitor strict adherence to regulatory and business requirements. Establish strong ties into the relevant business lines governance, risk, and control tools / solutions and data sources to ensure adequate development, implementation and ongoing maintenance of new tools / solutions and the highest possible value added. Provide constant challenge to increase the overall effectiveness and efficiency and where appropriate, follow up in proposing, developing, and implementing changes using business intelligence and analytics. Provide timely and accurate data analytics / insights to key stakeholders.

Desired

Tertiary qualifications (minimum Diploma) in Computer Science, Risk and Control, or other relevant areas. Excellent organizational and leadership skills with ability to manage multiple deadlines and effectively prioritise. Strong sense of personal ownership and responsibility in accomplishing the organisation’s goal. Able to get things done in a quick-paced environment. Be transparent and open around what doesn’t work and what does. Excellent communication and briefing skills at senior executive and board level – oral, written and presentation; technical reporting writing across various types of target audiences. Highly entrepreneurial with a high level of energy, dedication, and an unrelenting drive to deliver value. Excellent understanding and proven track record of implementation of solutions using Business Intelligence platforms such as MicroStrategy, Power BI, Tableau, etc.
