Job Overview:


As a Credit Control Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the management of the company's credit control processes.


Working closely with the Credit Control Lead, you will ensure the timely collection of outstanding invoices and contribute to reducing the Daily Sales Outstanding days of customers.


Your responsibilities will include maintaining accurate credit accounts records, resolving payment issues with customers, and providing essential administrative support to the credit control and receivable team.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Customer Maintenance: Upload invoices into customers' portals, send periodic Statements of Account (SoA) and reminders, and ensure prompt clearance of received payments.
  • Customer Communication: Engage with customers to address invoice or payment discrepancies/disputes, ensuring swift resolution.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, payments received, and outstanding debts utilizing accounting software or spreadsheets.
  • Reporting: Prepare comprehensive reports on invoice uploading status, aging analysis, and weekly collections for management review.
  • Administrative Support: Provide adhoc support to the credit control and receivables function, including tasks related to monthend closing activities, filing, data entry, and correspondence.

Competences:

  • Education: Diploma/Degree in accounting or finance; additional certifications are advantageous.
  • Experience: Demonstrable experience in credit control, accounts receivable, or similar roles.
  • Software Proficiency: Familiarity with QuickBooks accounting software and Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel.
  • Numerical Skills: Strong numerical aptitude coupled with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for effective interaction with customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Team Player: Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within timebound constraints in a dynamic environment.
  • Credit Management Knowledge: Understanding of credit management principles and practices.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to assess credit risk and identify potential issues through analytical reasoning.
  • Integrity: Professionalism and integrity in handling confidential financial information.
