Summary


To assist and support Head of Shariah Risk Management in managing Shariah Non-Compliance Risk (SNCR) within the Group's integrated risk management framework.

To ensure the Group is operating in line with the Bank Negara Malaysia's requirement as well as Shariah ruling issued by the Shariah Supervisory Councils.


This includes:

  • Ensure SNCR is identified and monitored in various process of business and functional lines in policies/guidelines/manuals/ procedures of the Group.
  • Measures and report the SNCR exposure and ensuring effectiveness of the risk mitigation
  • Ensuring continuous awareness and training on Shariah Risk by promoting the behavior of compliance with Shariah in product and operations of the Group.
  • Ensuring that SRM related policy and guideline of the Group are in line with BNM's requirement
  • Ensuring reporting of SNC event & income to relevant Committee, Management, Board, SSC of the Group and BNM.

Responsibilities:

  • To ensure Shariah Non
- compliance risk (SNCR) areas are proactively identified, assessed, mitigated, monitored and reported to management, Shariah Supervisory Council (SSC) and Board in line with operational risk management methodology of the Group and BNM's Shariah Governance Policy.

  • Responsible in reporting of Shariah Noncompliance (SNC) Event & its rectification plan to SSC, Board and BNM as per ORION
  • Prepare and ensure accuracy of SRM reporting on SNC Event, tracking of SNC event to the management, SSC and Board
  • Prepare necessary SRM report to relevant risk committee (ORCC/MRCC/BRC) & the SSC
  • To carry out and performed SRM roles as per policies and guidelines related to Shariah risk management.
  • To comply with BNM requirement on ORION reporting and integrity of the report compiled by the subordinate prior submission to BNM
  • To perform Shariah Risk Regulatory Review on BNM's guideline/policy as and when Perform independent assessment on policies/guidelines/manuals/ procedures & RCSA of the business and functional lines
  • Prepare materials and conduct Shariah compliance risk awareness program with special focus to identified SNCR highly exposedfunctional area of the Group.
  • To perform any other duties/ assignments as and when directed/ assigned by the superior as per business requirement from time to time

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 1 to 3 years of relevant experience in banking industry especially risk management is an advantage
  • Degree in any related discipline and have knowledge in Islamic Banking
  • Possess good knowledge on Shariah and banking industry.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal with good business acumen
  • Be an assertive and innovative team player, highly independent, committed, selfmotivated, resourceful and resultoriented.
  • Experience of working in fastmoving banking environment
  • Ability for multitasking, highly numerate with good attention to detail
