- Revenues are in the region of RM 3 billion. The company is a wholly owned subsidiary of a large multinational company (MNC) with revenues in excess of RM 75 billion.
- The Company has expanded rapidly in the recent past, with advanced production facilities commissioned in 2019 and 2021. Additional growth via new production facilities is being planned in the coming years.
Position Highlights:
- Position is highly visible within the organization and involves working closely with the VP/Head of HR, CEO and Senior Leaders across the Group.
- Broad focus is to provide support to the immediate Leader to support the development, coordination and execution of key social compliance strategies and programmes.
- Role can be based out of the company's Malaysia Office in Kuala Lumpur or at the main Site in Sitiawan, Perak but with regular travel to the various business sites in Malaysia and Indonesia.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Drive awareness and create alignment with employees on the importance of Social Compliance. This includes communicating social compliance achievements and future plans.
- Audit internal processes and systems to ensure social compliance processes and procedures are adhered to at all times. Embed Social Compliance efforts into business processes to develop an audit worthy organization.
- Manage supply chain social compliance audits to ensure conformance with company's Supplier Code of Conduct.
- Conduct yearly risk assessments to identify and mitigate risks on the onset.
- Develop tools that will facilitate and enhance compliance at the company.
- Lead training sessions around Social Compliance issues.
- Publish reports on Social Compliance performance.
- Play a lead role in driving the Social Compliance Committee and participate in Social Compliance Leadership Team meetings.
- Coordinate and administer all customer related selfassessments and social compliance audits.
Experience Desired
- Should currently be working in a midsenior role, with responsibility for social compliance/labour rights within an international organisation.
- Understanding of Malaysian Labour Laws and practices in Malaysia will be highly regarded.
- Knowledge of Internationally recognised Social Compliance Audit Protocols such as WRAP, VAP, ESVAP, SMETA etc will be highly regarded.
- Ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at top levels of the organization.
- Has strong interpersonal skills and builds deeplasting relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Highly proficient in spoken English, with strong written and oratory skills to back this up.
- 10 years of relevant working experience in international commercial organisations or NGOs
- A bachelor's degree from an accredited university is required. Those with a Legal background will be desirable. An MBA or other Certifications will also be advantageous.
- Exhibits exceptional communication, and interpersonal skills coupled with sound judgment and maturity to navigate within a diverse and multicultural organization.
- Balances multiple, and at times conflicting, corporate objectives in a constructive manner.
- Deals with unexpected setbacks, dynamic business conditions, and changing priorities proactively and positively.
- Detail oriented, with a high level of mental tenacity
- Must have exceptionally high standards of integrity, personal ethics, and a strong moral compass.
