Overview:


Responsible for managing mandatory calibration and services for high voltage electrical installation, leading plant turnaround planning and execution for electrical section, lead maintenance engineering project, and assume the responsibility to develop and maintain training plan for the electrical team to achieve high performance team level.


  • Maintain zero noncompliance for all required statutory requirements e.g. Uniform Building By-Laws including license to operate by Fire Services Act, Fire Certificate (FC), Energy Commission relevant regulation, etc.
  • Maintain zero major electrical safety incident.
  • Work with respective stakeholders to maximize planned downtime over unplanned downtime. Effort shall be taken place to meet best in class result benchmarked from recognize standard and global industry.
  • Plan and schedule workshop activities with maintenance planner, ensuring reasonable level of backlog.
  • Implement effective Turnaround and Shutdown Management System, meeting an agreed target.
  • Ensure appropriate response time for maintenance support services e.g. scaffolding erection, crane availability, insulation readiness, etc.
  • Maintenance Execution by ensuring high quality of workmanship, zero rework, adherence to maintenance procedures, reasonable mean time to repair (MTTR) and following appropriate engineering technical practices including QAQC requirement.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, and industry best practices in maintenance operations.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify and address potential hazards.
  • Providing leadership and guidance to maintenance teams, including technicians and contractors, to ensure they perform their duties safely and effectively.
  • Ensure good compliance in completing maintenance and repair checklists.
  • Lead the Electrical Team on all plant turnaround and shutdown. Work closely with maintenance supervisor and planner for effective planning and smooth execution.
  • Lead electrical critical maintenance involving electrical safety activity including executing the maintenance with regards to the inspection findings from respective Preventive Maintenance and Predictive Maintenance Tasks.
  • Take charge of troubleshooting repetitive electrical failures, participating in root causes analysis, implementing necessary repairs, and suggesting modifications for future improvements.
  • Liaise with original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) for complex technical issues. Work closely with OEM field service representative (FSR) to resolve issues effectively and efficiently.
  • Support maintenance planner in managing resources from contractors to support inhouse team timely/adhoc with effective implementation of Maintenance Planning and Scheduling.
  • Effectively manage resources from contractors to provide timely support to the inhouse team.
  • Implement quality control measures to maintain high standards of workmanship and customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with the Asset Management Team to plan and execute maintenance engineering projects aimed at improving Plant and Equipment Uptime.
  • Support the professional growth of subordinates through performance reviews, training, mentoring, and coaching on a regular and structured basis.
  • Develop and maintain the training plan for the electrical team, especially on principles and procedures pertaining to electrical works.
  • Facilitating training and skills development programs to enhance the technical capabilities of maintenance personnel.
  • Complete the closedloop work of maintenance work tickets.
  • Complete other tasks assigned by leaders.

Job Requirements:

  • Min Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in maintenance work in Petrochemical / Chemical sites.
  • Excellence knowhow in high voltage electrical installation including high voltage induction motors and high voltage variable frequency drive.
  • Experience in Energy Management and Power Quality analysis.
  • Experience in leading a team for plant turnaround and shutdown.
  • Experience in managing workshop activities.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams.

Salary:
RM8, RM12,000.00 per month
