As a Kitchen Helper, you will play a crucial role in supporting the kitchen team by assisting with various tasks to ensure efficient operations and high-quality food preparation.

Your responsibilities will involve working closely with chefs and other kitchen staff to maintain cleanliness, organize supplies, and contribute to the smooth functioning of the kitchen.


Key Responsibilities:

Food Preparation Assistance:

  • Assist in basic food preparation tasks such as chopping vegetables, preparing ingredients, and assembling dishes under the guidance of chefs.
  • Follow standardized recipes and portion sizes to maintain consistency in food quality.

Kitchen Cleanliness:

  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the kitchen area, including countertops, equipment, utensils, and storage areas.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards at all times.

Dishwashing and Cleaning:

  • Wash dishes, pots, pans, and other kitchen utensils using appropriate cleaning methods and equipment.
  • Keep dishwashing area clean and organized, including emptying trash and recycling bins as needed.

Inventory Management:

  • Assist in receiving, storing, and organizing food supplies and ingredients.
  • Monitor inventory levels and communicate any shortages or discrepancies to the kitchen supervisor or manager.

Supporting Kitchen Operations:

  • Assist chefs and kitchen staff during busy periods by fetching ingredients, utensils, or equipment as needed.
  • Follow instructions and guidelines provided by kitchen supervisors to ensure efficient workflow.

Adherence to Safety Protocols:

  • Adhere to all safety procedures and protocols, including proper handling of kitchen equipment and use of personal protective equipment (PPE) when necessary.
  • Report any safety hazards or incidents to the kitchen supervisor immediately.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Prior experience in a kitchen environment preferred but not required.
  • Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fastpaced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to follow instructions accurately.
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects when necessary.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
