About the Role:

  • Collaborate with a global team to develop, implement, and support software solutions for environmental, health, and safety (EHS) at BASF.
  • Provide ongoing development and maintenance of our global portfolio of operational EHS digital solutions.
  • Support project work related to implementation of existing offerings or development of new solutions within the operational EHS portfolio.
  • Act as a Global/Regional representative of BASF Digital community, supporting the BASF Digital roadmap and helping to identify, execute, and implement customer-centric digital solutions.
  • Be responsible for the continuous feedback phases of the DevOps cycle for select solutions in the Operational EHS product portfolio.
  • Understand technical issues with end users, troubleshoot, and resolve any technical issues related to operationalized solutions.
  • Test enhancements with a focus on user expectations and support deployment as needed.
  • Support system administration associated with various solutions in the Operational EHS portfolio, including report and visualization development.
  • Coordinate with a global development team in an agile team framework.
  • Manage the communication feedback cycle with end users and digital process owners to coordinate development needs.
  • Work quickly to resolve high-priority or high-impact issues related to solutions in the operational EHS landscape.
  • Use strong interpersonal skills to ensure quality internal customer service and collaborate effectively with a global development team.

Requirements:

  • Experience in Application Support as Level 2 and/or Level 3, including configuring global applications for local implementation.
  • Experience in application management, operations, and incidents management.
  • Able to support the product manager with global operational support planning and execution and operations management.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • A team player with strong collaboration skills.
  • A self-starter able to work independently.
  • Analytical capabilities and trouble-shooting skills.
  • Experience in Agile way of working.
  • Experience in SQL queries (PostgresSQL).
  • Experience in ETL (extract, transform, load) (esp in Excel).
  • Experience in JSON manipulation.
  • Experience in Git (Version Control).
  • Experience in working in global teams/projects.
  • A strong digital mindset to accelerate BASF's digitalization transformation journey.
  • An entrepreneurial spirit and the ability to foster a positive and energized culture.
  • Excellent judgement, able to weigh several and often conflicting constraints and make rapid, logical decisions.

Additional Plus/Nice to Have Skills:

  • Experience as a Scrum Master.
  • Experience with Angular, Java, and Spring boot.
  • Experience in JasperReports.
  • Experience in supporting Cloud-based infrastructure (Azure).

Education and Work Experience:

  • Degree or significant work experience in Computer Science, informatics, business informatics, or a comparable field.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a similar role.
