Porter Job Description Responsibilities:
Greeting arriving guests and retrieving their luggage upon their arrival. Providing directional assistance to guests towards designated Car Park area or Valet Parking. Working closely with the Security Officer to coordinate the traffic of vehicles in front of the hotel. Escorting guests to their rooms, explaining the room facilities as well as outlet operating hours. Giving directions to places of interest, sightseeing, shopping areas, and eateries. Delivering luggage, messages, and packages to guests and undertaking various other requests to ensure their comfort.
Transporting departing guests' luggage from the room to the lobby, ensuring that the guest has verified that all luggage has been accounted for.
Following all health & safety policies. Implementing, maintaining, and continuing to improve departmental policies, procedures, and service standards. Running errands requested by the Front Desk staff. Ensuring that luggage has been stored safely according to prescribed procedures. Being fully aware of what functions are going on in the hotel as well as nearby attractions.Maintaining a clean and tidy work area at all times (including the lobby and the area of the hotel entrance).
Attending all departmental meetings and training assigned by the Front Office Manager. Other duties as required.Job Types:
