  • Responsible for assisting in the development and implementation of the annual business plan and medium-term strategies, as well as establishing key performance objectives and plans to ensure the hotel meets its business targets and drives sustainable profitable growth.
  • Overall responsibility for all operational components to ensure efficiency and effectiveness of operations.
  • Monitor all costs with areas of responsibility and recommend measures to control them.
  • Ensure that the Departmental Operational Budgets are strictly adhered to.
  • Work closely with the Safety & Security Manager in ensuring that the complex meets the safety and security requirements as set out by the local authorities.
  • Ensure that the minimum operating standards are adhered to in order to achieve the level of service established in the Departmental Operations SOP's.
  • Assist the Complex General Manager in overall responsibility of all hotel activities to ensure efficiency and high standards of operations in all areas of the hotel.
  • Drives high levels of guest satisfaction through the consistent execution of all brand standards, visible operational leadership, active trend analysis and hands-on interaction with guests and associates.
  • Create an operational environment of education and empowerment that energizes associates to focus on guest preferences and aspirations, allowing for the creation of memorable guest experiences.
  • Continuous focus on employee satisfaction and ensures continuous improvement action plans are executed effectively, and as needed, with a focus on a team and succession planning culture.
  • Tour the operating departments daily, making adjustments as needed via Department Heads.
  • Meet all financial review dates and corporate directed programs in a timely fashion.
  • Assist in creating a positive team-oriented environment which focuses on the guest, through employee development and motivation.
  • Inspect rooms regularly (weekly at a minimum) with Rooms Division leaders.
  • Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of the physical property through inspections and preventive maintenance programs with department managers.
  • Be in the public areas during peak times, greeting guests and offering assistance as needed.
  • Monitor and handle customer service issues and responses in accordance with PPHG Hotels International standards and practices.
  • Communicate effectively the hotel strategies to the operational team (where appropriate).

Talent Profile

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Management / Marketing / Hospitality Management or related qualification.
  • At least five (5) years of proven hotel operations leadership experience preferably as a Director of Operations/Director of Rooms/Rooms Division Manager.
  • Strong strategic decision making and demonstrated financial business acumen.
  • Demonstrated success and leadership in the areas of customer satisfaction, operational excellence, employee satisfaction, revenue and profit.
  • Familiar in playing a strategic role and experienced in marketing and planning.
  • Have excellent organizational, influencing and communication skills.
  • Results and service oriented with an eye for details.
  • Ability to multi-task, work well in dynamic situations.
