POSITION SUMMARY:

Performs component engineering work in basic and applied research, development, and/or design of new products and/or sustaining of existing products.

Ensure that the inputs of the work are clear, actionable, and compelling, and the outputs are valuable and deliverable.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Process IPMR (Internal Part Number Request) and control cycle time.
  2. Find alternative parts for OTS (Off The Shelf) parts.
  3. Handle AVL ECO and Supplier Call Back.
  4. BOM Scrubbing and PCN report.
  5. Component AVL system clean-up and maintenance.
  6. Understand the new product release and engineering change procedures to support the product during and after its transition into manufacturing.
  7. Adhere to organizational requirements on quality management, health and safety, code of conduct, legal stipulations, environmental policies, and general duty of care.
  8. Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to handle highly complex engineering assignments.
  • Ability to read schematics and datasheets to understand the functionality of components.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment to resolve problems.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to be creative.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Knowledge of normal electronic components and ability to read datasheets to understand functionality and parameters.
  • Minimum of six (6) years engineering experience in related electrical components development.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and SAP.

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience and/or education.
  • Electrical safety training (additional company safety courses may be required).
