In charge of tax and legal compliance to ensure accurate and timely tax payments and filings.

Client Details

A global leading shared service centre.

Description

Compile and file all tax returns, including Corporate, GST, deferred, withholding, VAT, and DST, and ensure accurate posting of tax entries and reconciliations in collaboration with the ICF team.

Oversee the process of following up on tax refunds, including GST, in coordination with the ICF team.

Ensure compliance with corporate income tax withholding regulations concerning cross-border payments.

Assist in transfer pricing matters and provide guidance on intercompany transactions.

Prepare necessary information and responses for communication with local tax authorities and provide support to the ICF team.

Offer support during tax audits to the ICF team.

Month-end / Year-end Responsibilities

Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and year-end provisions in line with Group Guidelines and the Internal Control System (ICS) framework.

Create and maintain documentation for contingent liabilities and Deferred Tax Asset (DTA) / Deferred Tax Liability (DTL) workings.

Generate tax schedules for auditors, local tax authorities, etc., in collaboration with the ICF team.

Ensure provisions, Group charges, and documentation are in place for Transfer Pricing purposes.

Prepare and review quarterly tax estimates for payment.

Manage the tax database, including carry-forward balances and adjustments to Tax codes on the Balance sheet, ensuring accuracy through 3-way checks.

Business Partnering

Coordinate with other departments to optimize tax implications and minimize tax outflows.

Provide support to all functions regarding Capex decisions and Permanent Establishment (PE) aspects.

Assess tax benefits for businesses and develop tax benefit proposals for Stakeholder

Audit and Governance

Assist in preparing for tax audits and annual statutory audits, collaborating with auditors, consultants, Shared Service Centre team, etc., to ensure timely and accurate financial closings and audits.

Ensure tax-related tasks adhere to Corporate Policies, Authority Matrix, and the Internal Control System (ICS) of the Company.

Coordinate and follow up with auditors to ensure timely audits.

Assist the team with Registrar of Companies matters.

Provide support to the Tax Manager for representations concerning tax litigations.

Work alongside internal and external auditors during financial and operational audits.

Maintain appropriate documentation for audit purposes.

Profile

University (Degree) in Finance or Economics or Accounting ACCA / CPA / CA / CIMA (MUST HAVE)

4-8 years of work experience, preferably from MNCs background and/or Big4 firms (MUST HAVE)

Proven track record to manage finance processes, workflows

SAP experience (MUST HAVE)

Prior Business Partnering skills and prior working experience in Tax practice in Big4 firm will be an added advantage

Proven track record to manage both Direct and Indirect Tax compliance (MUST HAVE)
