  1. Grab's lending business, Grab Financial Services Asia (GFSA), focuses on providing microcredit to under-served communities. The GFSA team combines talent from its Regional Hub in Singapore with deep local market operators.
  2. We aim to build a team with the best mix of business drive, industry expertise, and local market knowledge. The GFSA team handles all aspects of lending, from conceptualization to ongoing management in its focus markets.
  3. The Country Credit team sets and executes credit risk management policies, working closely with the Country Head and Regional Credit Risk team to use data and technology in risk management.

Get to Know the Role

  1. We're looking for a Risk Associate who will manage and structure the internal and external data, automate the credit risk assessment processes, and develop dashboards to monitor portfolio risk performance.
  2. You will report to Head of Lending and work onsite at the Grab Malaysia office.

The Critical Tasks You Will Perform

  1. Develop and implement an end-to-end credit framework and policies for the Driver and Consumer segments in collaboration with the regional credit team.
  2. Manage credit risk operations and create a credit whitelist using alternative data to enhance credit models for the MEX segment.
  3. Establish and refine credit models, uncover insights, and collaborate with lending and collections teams to optimize the lending portfolio.
  4. Work with external agencies like RAMCI and Experian to improve credit processes and operational efficiency.
  5. Monitor credit performance, identify underwriting weaknesses, and adapt to new methods for business growth.
  6. Coordinate with cross-functional teams to develop data-driven strategies, credit policies, and collection strategies while minimizing credit loss.
  7. Design and implement performance dashboards to provide senior management with actionable insights for decision-making.

The must haves:

  1. Bachelor's degree, preferably in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Finance, Risk Management, or a relevant background.
  2. 5+ years of relevant work experience in credit policy and credit analytics.
  3. Ability to conceptualize and build credit scoring using non-conventional alternative data.
  4. Technical expertise regarding data models, data mining, and segmentation techniques.
  5. Fluency with SQL, Python, R or other tools for statistical analysis.
