**Job Opportunity**:
Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance (BHSI) has an exciting opportunity for a claim’s professional with extensive experience in handling Accident & Health claims. The role will be based in our Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia office.
**Duties & Responsibilities**:
- Build, lead and manage a team of Accident & Health claim professionals.
- Manage claims across corporate travel and other accident & health products. This will include claims written on a direct and on a reinsurance basis.
- Undertake an investigation of each claim which includes assessing policy coverage, claims reserving and identify and pursue recovery opportunities, where possible.
- Provide high levels of customer service with clear communication to insureds and brokers with a proactive approach to achieving strong results for insureds.
- Work closely with underwriters, actuaries, and our claims teams in our respective regional offices in Singapore, Hong Kong, New Zealand and Australia to report on claim developments and trends and support the delivery of BHSI’s plans, goals and objectives.
- Participate and execute process improvement activities in the team based on interaction and collaboration with the stakeholders.
- Work with the underwriting teams in Singapore and Hong Kong in developing new products and wordings.
**Qualifications, Skills and Experience**:
- Minimum education level bachelor’s degree holder from accredited university.
- Minimum of 5 years of accident & health claim handling experience.
- Supervisory or team management experience with particular focus on accident & health claims.
- Excellent customer service, interpersonal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work both autonomously and in a team environment.
- Strong time management and organization skills, and ability to manage a high volume of frequency claims.
- Demonstrated integrity, passion for excellence and collaboration across functions.
