**Responsibilities**:

- Assist Business Centers (BCs) in acquiring customers / projects and in proposing suitable financing structures in terms of facilities, types of security, and risk mitigation where related to the Carbon Economy and in Climate related projects/investments;
- Provide extensive technical expertise on the Carbon Economy and the Climate ecosystem for both internal and external stakeholders (e.g. sales personnel, credit approving authority, sustainability committee, bank customers, bank procurement team, and other relevant parties);
- To drive the growth of the Bank’s participation in supporting Climate Positive initiatives via the Bank’s consumers and supporting them in their decarbonizing goals-unlocking the potential in businesses via Climate/Carbon led initiatives; mitigate sustainability risk, and provide internal and external thought leadership on the Carbon Market/economy;
- To conduct periodic assessment on the technical risks associated with decarbonization initiatives/projects in terms of technology capability, warranties, guarantees, assurances, etc. This includes the need to study emerging technologies in the sector and recommend upcoming proven technology development trends for potential financing by the Bank (for eg, Carbon, Capture & Storage (CCS), Carbon, Capture, Utilization & Storage, (CCUS), Low Carbon to Neutral Carbon products such as green ammonia, green hydrogen, pump storage, algae cultivation, EV infrastructure, Bio-based LNG, etc.);
- To provide on-going analysis on decarbonization projects or technologies and to provide technical support to related entities within the Group on matters related to Carbon & Climate (on-shore as well as offshore);
- To perform periodic reviews on National policies and new mechanisms introduced by Governments (Government of Malaysia, in particular) in the space of the Carbon economy or Climate related policies (such as the introduction of a carbon tax, the introduction of tax such as CBAM (other country policies that may affect the revenues of our customers, etc) to establish the bank’s early participation and mitigation (if necessary) within the sector.

**Requirements**:

- Degree in Finance / Economics / Commerce / Engineering/ Sustainability/ Environmental Management or relevant field;
- At least 2 years or above in climate change, environmental or carbon market consulting or any related industry position in a High Carbon Intensity Industry;
- Possess knowledge of issues pertinent to climate change, GHG emissions and carbon markets.
- Experience in carbon accounting, carbon measurement techniques of calculation methods under the GHG Protocol (for Scopes 1, 2 &3) and LCA would be advantageous.
- amiliar with industries with High Carbon Intensity such as the Oil & Gas sector, the Steel Industry, Cement Industry, Mining Industry and so on or have some working knowledge.
