**Position**: DMR Intern (CHW Unit)

**Department**: Medical

**Location**: Remote with 4 Days /Week in the Office* - Starting March 2024
*KL Office: Lorong Tanjong, Bukit Gasing, 46000 Petaling Jaya, Selangor

**Employment**: 2-Months Probation + 4-Months Internship

**Duration**: Full-Time, 5 Days /Week, from 9AM-6PM, for 6 Months

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor's degree in medicine, nursing, public health, or a related field is preferred, though not mandatory
- Past experience in healthcare settings, such as hospitals, community clinics or health centres, or case management roles within medical organisations or community health programs is required
- Experience in recruiting and coordinating medical professionals, including doctors and case worker volunteers is highly desirable
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, patient care and healthcare administration
- Ability to manage the full patient cycle effectively, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning and follow-up care
- Proficiency in office administration duties, including record-keeping, scheduling, and procurement of medical supplies
- Strong administrative skills, including documentation, database management, and maintaining medical records
- Ability to work remotely and in the field, demonstrating adaptability to different working environments
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with healthcare providers, patients, families and external stakeholders
- Ability to prioritise tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines
- Familiarity with Google Workspace, particularly Google Docs and Google Sheets, for collaboration and document management
- Fluent in both English and Malay, with the ability to communicate effectively in both languages

**Responsibilities (Internal Operations)**:

- Patient Management:

- Coordinate patient intake, assessments and follow-up care in collaboration with healthcare providers
- Maintain accurate patient records, including medical histories, treatment plans and progress notes
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and confidentiality standards in handling patient information
- Staff and Volunteer Management:

- Recruit, onboard and train medical professionals and case worker volunteers
- Provide ongoing support and supervision to volunteers, ensuring adherence to program protocols and standards
- HR Policy and Compliance:

- Ensure compliance with healthcare laws and organisational policies
- Develop and update HR policies and procedures specific to the CHW Unit, ensuring alignment with best practices and legal requirements
- Office Administration:

- Manage day-to-day office operations, including scheduling appointments, procuring medical supplies and maintaining a clean and organised workspace
- Coordinate with other departments to facilitate seamless operations and communication within the CHW Unit

**Responsibilities (Project Roles)**:

- Community Health Worker Recruitment and Training:

- Develop and implement strategies for recruiting and training Community Health Workers (CHWs)
- Provide orientation and ongoing education to CHWs on healthcare protocols, cultural competence and communication skills
- Patient Outreach and Engagement:

- Coordinate outreach efforts to engage patients in preventive care, health education and follow-up services
- Collaborate with community partners and stakeholders to identify and address healthcare needs and barriers to access
- Health Education and Promotion:

- Develop and deliver health education materials and workshops to empower patients and community members to make informed health decisions
- Organise health promotion events and campaigns to raise awareness about key health issues and resources available
- Data Collection and Reporting:

- Collect and analyse data on patient outcomes, program effectiveness and community health trends
- Prepare reports and presentations to share findings with internal and external stakeholders, informing programmatic decisions and advocacy efforts
- Project Coordination and Collaboration:

- Coordinate with healthcare providers, social service agencies and community organisations to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care for patients
- Participate in interdisciplinary meetings and collaborations to address complex patient needs and improve health outcomes in the community

**Compensation**:

- 2-Months Probation: RM500
- 4-Months Internship: RM1,000 /Month + Allowances for Field Work

**Grow With Us**: After completing their 6-months, successful applicants will have the option to extend their employment.
