Specialist Accountant

Primarily responsible for the daily execution of Record to Report processes in line with corporate guidelines, internal procedures, and the departmental goals.
- Execute based on accounting principles, policies and procedures are complied with; internal controls are adhered to; terms of the service level agreement are consistently met; and those efficient workflows and best practices are adopted, in the Record to Report department.
- Understand and able to address the treatment of deviations and exceptions, maintains positive working relationships with cross-functional teams and business partners.
What we ask
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy or Finance (Master’s degree in Business Administration or Finance and Accounting is an advantage)
- 4+ years proven experience in multinational company or Record to Report at Shared Service Centre environment and knowledge of finance/accounting, related principles, practices, standards and IFRS
- Solid hands-on working knowledge to improve/transform complex integrated RtR process on regional or global level
- Excel, SAP, ERP knowledge
- Fluent (written and spoken) English knowledge
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills
- Basic knowledge of LEAN/continuous improvement and/or CI mindset
- Proactive, possess customer focus in lead to interact with business partners
- Ability to adapt change, volume of work is not stable, often change in scope able to - Answers questions, informs, and advises on operational, technical, and non-standard issues on request and at own initiative

- Perform Intercompany accounting activities, financial analysis, reporting and draw up performance indicators to support the (team) manager
- Analyze and evaluate RtR Intercompany processes, and advice on improving these processes
- Ensure monthly RTR Controls are in place in accordance with Internal Control Framework (ICF) guidelines.
- Support, coordinate and implement internal and external RtR and Intercompany process changes
- Perform month-end and year-end activities
- Prepare, analyze, advice and deliver complex periodical reports, in accordance with defined formats and procedures.
- Ensure that manual journal entries are supported with valid supporting documents, are Sherpa compliant and complete with coding
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations and clearing on balance sheet accounts
- Perform a review and follow up on balance sheet open items and ensure that actions are tracked in standard action and issue log
- Solve complex issues on specialist topics
- Proactively raise risks, opportunities and resolving problems; draws conclusions based on analysis and gives advice on optimizing existing practice. Identifies shortcomings in current methods, systems, and procedures
Projects and process optimization:
- Take part in and execute (or ensure execution of) assigned business finance-related internal or external FSSC projects (mainly regional and global) - promoting effectiveness and efficiency in day-to-day operation in line with the project management guidelines.
- Contribute and coordinate department process, projects, and system improvement initiatives.
