**About the Role**:
The role holder will be responsible to grow brand/category market share through provision of an effective and innovative product portfolio within the right price and quality in order to drive sales. The role is responsible for contributing to Business Unit’s overall brand/category strategy, as well as partnering and maintaining key relationships with principals for brands/categories managed and maximizes sales and profitability.

**Reporting to Senior Manager - Buying, you will be responsible for**:

- Studies trends from historical data around brand/category sales and market research to assist in the overall planning process.
- Ensures optimum utilization of customer research information and market intelligence to guide brand/category management decisions, including decisions on the introduction of new products, product assortment, promotion, and pricing of products in the store.
- Collaborates with Retail operations to understand consumer trends, sales figures, etc. to further formulate the business plan for the brand/category.
- Ensures effective ‘in season’ management for the given brand/category of products (stock balancing, markdown suggestions, reorder management, stock analysis, stock vs sales performance).
- Manage and oversees the buying requirements and formulates buying plan, assortment option planning for the brand/category.
- Ensures proper monitoring of orders based on the buying plan and follow-ups on merchandise delivery as per the plan for timely launches.
- Ensuring accuracy on product information, option, and depth health via orderbook management.
- Manages the relationship and hold meetings with principals/suppliers on matters relating to price negotiations, product launches, product segmentations, marketing campaigns, forthcoming offerings, and events.
- Coordinates regular meetings with Area Managers/Store Managers brand principals to share insights arising from market dynamics and brand/category performance.
- Collaborates with the visual merchandising function to provide brand/category guidelines and implementations of the same in all retail outlets.
- Works with the brand principal to coordinate training related to products and customer service, to ensure personnel knowledge of key product features and benefits across the stores.
- Conduct a seasonal order overview to highlight buys and key product focus to relevant departments.
- Co-ordinates product launches and facilitate on product calendar planning aligning all Key Launches and Key Campaign products and co-ordinates with VM, Brand and Retail Marketing for a seamless execution.
- Analyzes weekly and quarterly sales-related data for products within the brand/category portfolio, monitoring key metrics such as brand/category sales, sell-out, gross margin, and turnover. Translates insights derived from the analysis into actionable strategies to enhance potential sales opportunities and provides recommendations for future buys
- Generate creative ideas for new products in line with market trends and consumer preferences.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop product concepts that align with the brand's vision and strategy.
- Conduct market research to identify gaps and opportunities for the business.
- Oversee the development of prototypes and samples with suppliers and manufacturers, ensuring they meet design specifications, quality standards, and cost targets.

**In order to be successful for the role, you should ideally have**:

- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Buying and Merchandising, or equivalent.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience with at least 4 years in managing brand / category of products.
- Sound knowledge and deep understanding of market outlets, demands, and trends within the region.
- Proficient in written and spoken English.
- Skills in Business Intelligence, MS Office, and analytical/statistical acumen.
