Financial Controller

The Financial Controller’s role is a professional finance Manager role responsible for managing activities associated with financial and management accounting, cashflow management, statutory management, people management and maintaining effective financial controls while supporting the commercial activities of the business.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Leadership and management of the Asia Finance team, driving engagement and efficiencies within the team.
- Working with the Regional Operating Teams in formulating business strategies and decisions, driving growth in the region and ensuring the financial information needs of all stakeholders are met.
- Managing the Region’s profitability and cash flows, providing appropriate foresight and reporting to the Finance Director.
- Managing the Region’s internal and external financial reporting obligations and lodgments.
- Managing the Region’s statutory taxation obligations and lodgment (including Income Tax, IRAS, ECI, Payroll Tax).
- Collaborate, review, design, and implement finance systems, policies, and procedures to ensure continuous improvement and contemporary relevant practices.
- Ensure finance ledgers are maintained on a timely basis, are accurate and complete, and structured for the dual purpose of providing relevant information to internal users and meeting statutory obligations.
- Assistance in preparation of annual budgets for the Region.
- Directly responsible for recruitment, training and development of finance and admin team members in the Region.

**Skills & EXPERIENCE**:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or a related field. A Master's degree or professional certifications (e.g., CPA) are preferred.
- 15+ years Accounting, Audit, or Finance experience with in-depth knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and reporting standards.
- Experience in global multinational companies is a plus.
- A good knowledge of taxation and transfer pricing.
- Strong bilingual skills in English and local language.
- Demonstrated 5 years’ experience in team management, exceptional leadership skills and motivating the team to achieve high-quality results.
- Demonstrated ability to understand business operations, identify issues and define a process to resolve issues.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills demonstrating the ability to communicate problems to others with the same skills.
- Excellent personal planning and time management delivering outcomes according to a set schedule.
- A bright and cheerful disposition, excellent personal presentation and excellent communications and phone skills.
