The Data & Analytics practice has been providing actuarial, financial, strategy, management and distribution consulting services to (re)insurance companies/ (re)takaful operators in Asia since NMG’s inception over 30 years ago. During this time, we have been valuing reserves, performing pricing studies and various capital/ reinsurance optimisation analyses for companies throughout the region for their compliance with increasingly sophisticated local insurance regulations.

**Summary Statement**:
The Data & Analytics team has been providing actuarial, financial, strategy, management and distribution consulting services to general insurance companies in the region since its inception ~30 years ago. During this time, we have been valuing the IBNR reserves for companies throughout the region for their compliance with increasingly sophisticated local insurance regulations such as the implementation of risk-based capital (‘RBC’) frameworks. As a result, we have developed an excellent knowledge of the regulatory environment, which in turn allows us to advise clients on the optimal strategies for operating within these jurisdictions.

The Data & Analytics team is a key component of NMG’s analytics proposition, providing the statistical analysis and modelling capability that supports a number of our public studies and bespoke propositions.

Within this role, the Principal Consultant will assist in leading the practice and manage consultants/analysts handling various actuarial projects. You will be required to develop advanced actuarial and financial skills within the Data & Analytics team and coach/mentor junior members of the team.

- Develop and execute the company’s business strategies in order to attain the goals of the board and shareholders
- Provide strategic/technical advice to clients across the region to meet strategic and statutory actuarial requirements
- Provide management and leadership to support to NMG’s global Data & Analytics team
- Communicate and maintain trusted relationships with clients, shareholders, business partners and authorities
- Oversee the company’s financial performance, and develop new business propositions
- Delegate responsibilities and supervise the work of executives providing guidance and motivation to drive maximum performance

**Competencies, Qualifications & Experience**:

- A qualified actuary, with-depth knowledge and over 10 years-experience within the Financial Services sectors, specifically within the general insurance actuarial space, ideally with consulting experience
- Tertiary qualification with excellent academics
- Proven analytical skills, the ability to draw insight from complex data sets, excellent attention to detail and high-quality standards; a commercial understanding and drive to innovate
- An ability to develop relationships with clients and influence the thinking of key decision makers, making strategic contributions and leading presentations; ability to work effectively with a matrixed and global team of consultants
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, particularly with a senior audience
- Strong leadership and people management capabilities, empowering, mentoring and developing colleagues that you work with
