**Job purpose**

The Executive Pastry Chef will be tasked with overseeing all aspects of the Central Bakery, from menu development and recipe creation to production and presentation. This role requires a combination of artistic flair, technical proficiency, and leadership ability to inspire and mentor our Central bakery team. The primary objective is to maintain the highest standards of quality and innovation, ensuring that our pastry offerings consistently exceed customer expectations and contribute to the overall success of our culinary operations.

**Duties and responsibilities**
- **Menu Development**:Create and update pastry menus in collaboration with the bakery team, incorporating seasonal ingredients, flavor trends, and customer preferences.
- **Recipe Creation**: Develop and refine recipes for a variety of pastries, desserts, breads, and other baked goods, ensuring exceptional taste, texture, and presentation.
- **Production Management**: Oversee all aspects of bakery production, including ingredient preparation, baking, decorating, and plating, while maintaining consistency and efficiency.
- **Staff Training and Development**: Lead, train, mentor, and develop bakery team members, providing guidance on techniques, recipes, and best practices to foster skill development and teamwork.
- **Quality Control**: Implement and maintain rigorous quality control standards to uphold the reputation of our pastry offerings, including taste testing, portion control, and presentation guidelines.
- **Menu Costing**: Collaborate with management to establish pricing strategies for bakery items, taking into account ingredient costs, labor expenses, and market trends.
- **Vendor Relationships**:Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers to source high-quality ingredients and equipment, while staying within budgetary constraints
- **Inventory Management**:Manage inventory levels for bakery ingredients and supplies, ensuring freshness, minimizing waste, and optimizing cost efficiency.
- **Health and Safety Compliance**:Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations and guidelines to provide a safe working environment for staff.

**Requirements**:

- Degree in Pastry Art or Baking or Pastry or equivalent course and certification.
- At least 5 years of experience as an Executive Pastry Chef or in a senior pastry role within a high-end cafeteria, restaurant, hotel, or bakery shop.
- Creative flair and passion for pastry arts, with a strong understanding of flavor combinations, techniques, and trends.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team of pastry professionals.
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities, with a focus on multitasking and prioritization in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations, with a commitment to upholding health and safety standards in the Central Bakery.
- Confident, enthusiastic and self-motivated individual.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent, Contract
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: RM2,500.00 - RM3,000.00 per month
