The Sales Manager assists the Director of Sales in leading and supervising the Sales Team. He / she oversees and directs all aspects of the negotiation and coordination process as well as the successful handling of Corporate / FIT / M. I. C.E. / Social / Tour & Travel events as assigned. This role leads the Sales team to ensure smooth operation of the department to maximize business opportunities and deliver the highest service standards.
**What will I be doing?**
As the Sales Manager, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:
1. Developing business from the MICE, PCO Sector, as designated by the Director of Sales making a minimum amount of face-to-face appointments each week.
- Source business from designated area of responsibility via telephone calls, sales blitz and prospecting exercise.
- Ensure that ten (15) face to face meetings with clients are achieved each week and eight per day if conducting a sales trip.
- Initiate and conduct site inspections and familiarisation trips from the designated market place. A minimum of 4 tours of inspection per week across all properties. This may require you to work evenings and weekends.
- Conducting tours of inspection and entertaining clients when required.
- Submit a weekly report, accurate weekly call plan and monthly activity report. Analyse trends of business by allocated market segment, channel and GOB - co-ordinates all activities to maintain and increase revenue through added business volume and increased rate.
- Maintains contacts with key decision through sales calls, telephone contact and written communication.
- Attending trade shows, exhibitions and hotel related events as directed and required.
- Work with property Groups, Meetings and Events team to support conversion of leads.
- Analyse performance of existing customers and monitors production and profitability.
- Achieving set targets as developed within the individual hotel's business plans.
- Monitor and improve sales accounts productivity
- Follow up and administration of business generated by face to face calls including all relevant DELPHI entries.
- Responsible for data base maintenance.
- Analyse competitors' activities and pricing strategy.
- Stealth and convert accounts from the competition.
- Attending training programs as designated.
- Carry out National Directives to client base when required.
