About the Role
This role requires an individual who is passionate about experiential marketing and is experienced in developing and executing sponsorship / brand partnership strategies that will help elevate AIA’s brand reputation. The incumbent will be reporting to the Director of Corporate Communications. He/She will specifically deliver effective corporate sponsorship, on-ground brand activation and use of KOL/ambassador engagement, with the objective of continuously driving awareness and consideration for the AIA brand, its purpose of Healthier, Longer, Better Lives and its propositions - ensuring that they resonate not only with AIA customers but also the general public.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and strengthen AIA’s leading position as a credible health and wealth advocate through effective brand sponsorship and partnerships, e.g., health-related events that include but not limited to mass participation running event(s); public park adoption, etc.
- Develop, plan, and implement AIA’s existing and new proprietary events that promote healthy living and encourage people to Live with Vitality.
- Manage and activate football-related activities locally, leveraging AIA’s global partnership with Tottenham Hotspur. This includes ideating and building a calendar of activities / events, as well as working closely with Group Office to develop and market content, materials, contests, and relevant engagements that will appeal to AIA customers, prospects, staff and agents, and Spurs fans and the football community in Malaysia.
- Support the Sponsorship team in developing and implementing a brand ambassador and influencer strategy that will complement and further extend AIA’s message of helping people live Healthier, Longer, Better Lives.
- Proactively seek out and identify sponsorship opportunities.
- Analyse, evaluate and negotiate existing and new sponsorship proposals in order to identify opportunities that are in line with the brand, fits within target audience, and has the potential to drive awareness, engagement, and help build quality leads pipeline for AIA Malaysia.
- Always on the lookout for the latest trendy sponsorship opportunities in the market, which will help elevate and keep the AIA brand relevant.
- Support key integrated marketing and brand plans to contribute to the company’s strategic priorities and to further strengthen the positioning of Healthier, Longer, Better Lives in consumers’ minds.
- Monitor and maintain the inventory of corporate gifts, premium items and event assets that are kept in the office and external warehouse, as well as be responsible for replenishing current stock and sourcing for new gift items as needed.
- Perform other responsibilities and duties periodically assigned by supervisor in order to meet operational and/or other requirements.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in brand management / communications / marketing / events management, or related field.
- Able to go beyond on-ground and integrate across multiple platforms/channels to achieve higher effectiveness of the sponsorship / activation. Having basic knowledge of digital, Above the line (ATL) and Below the line (BTL) platforms will be useful.
- Takes initiative to continuously monitor and stay familiar with the latest market trends, technologies and methodologies in consumer engagement and experiential marketing.
- Empathetic and able to have a strong understanding of target audience.
- Great attention to detail, and have a keen creative eye and understanding when it comes to evaluating concepts and designs.
- Independent and result-orientated, and a team player who is always willing to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders within a fast-paced environment.
- Resourceful with strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to make robust decisions under pressure with considerations of practicalities and governance.
