About the Role

This position is part of K2 Data Centres, a company under Kuok (Singapore) Limited, based in Malaysia.

Purpose of the Position:

K2 seeks a leader to oversee operational Critical environment shift teams providing 24/7/365 on-site support for a production data centre facility. The Facility Manager is responsible for emergency response and maintenance of critical services within the data center environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage and be accountable for the designated shift team, ensuring successful operation, maintenance, and repair of all critical environment systems while maintaining 100% uptime to all critical power systems on site at all times.
  • The role involves planning of shift teams' work activities daily, ensuring all aspects of the shift & facility are covered & monitored during the day. This includes coordinating planned maintenance visits of vendors - based on the main sub-contractor schedule for each contract year - to ensure smooth running of the shift. Provide a point of contact for clients & management.
  • Prioritize and assign PPM's / TT's planned & unplanned work orders to shift Data Center Specialists to achieve & maintain 100% compliance every month.
  • Adhere to quality, health & safety, and environmental policies within the domain.
  • Coordinate ongoing maintenance and activities within the Data Centre for your shift team. During the day, you will have full overview & awareness of all activities and, in conjunction with the Critical Maintenance Manager, prioritize these activities.
  • Evaluate subcontractors' suitability before issuing permits to work.
  • Review subcontractor method statements, risk assessments, and MSDS to ensure compliance with site health & safety and operating procedures prior to issuing permits to works.
  • Ensure that the FOC is constantly manned and EPMS, BMS, and Fire Systems alarms are responded to promptly.
  • Complete scheduled PMs for your shift team and ensure all shift Data Centre Specialists execute their scheduled PMs timely (PMs as issued through CAFM) to reach 100% PM compliance.
  • Update and log all activities/time on CAFM. Ensure your shift team updates & records all time/activities on CAFM.
  • Prepare a daily Shift Handover report via email detailing activities and issues requiring escalation. It is the lead's responsibility to ensure the shift report is accurately completed and sent out to the critical environments e-mail alias on time.
  • Wear K2-provided clothing and necessary PPE at all times.
  • Achieve acceptable scores on the team KPI Scorecard located on CAFM.
  • Contribute to and develop site-specific procedures including EOPs, SOPs, MOPs, Aps and EOP Drills as issued by Management.
  • Understand the site Emergency Response Plan and collaborate with the SOC/FOC during emergencies.
  • Report health and safety breaches and concerns to your manager immediately.
  • Participate in a minimum of 4 drills per month.
  • Monitor third-party engineers and sub-contractors to ensure compliance with site standards when performing maintenance or relevant activity.
  • Develop good working relationships with all members of K2 staff and Customer representatives.
  • Deliver Toolbox talks once every shift rotation to meet & exceed shift team monthly target. All toolbox talks must be signed off and issued to contract support upon completion.
  • Maintain the professional image of K2 while interacting with clients and visitors on site.
  • Follow K2's quality, health & safety, and environmental policies and documentation requirements during work.
  • Perform other duties as defined and requested by local management.
  • The Facility Manager is the next point of contact – after the Shift cover technician – to cover shifts during emergency situations, providing holiday and sickness cover at short notice. Must be flexible in working patterns to support business demands.
