About the Role

This position is for K2 Data Centres, a company under Kuok (Singapore) Limited, based in Johor, Malaysia.

Purpose of the Role

On a day-to-day basis, the Data Center Specialist (DCS) is responsible for executing and assisting with maintenance breakdowns and follow-ups. The DCS must ensure that maintenance works efficiently, effectively, safely, and in line with the maintenance strategy.

Responsible for carrying out planned work and reporting directly to the Facility Lead.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Ensure Uptime and Equipment Reliability: Ensure the successful operation, maintenance, and repair of all critical equipment systems while maintaining 100% uptime on site.
  2. Plan and Execute Work Orders: Plan completion of planned & reactive work orders to achieve and maintain 100% compliance every month.
  3. Assist in Project Management: Assist in the planning, supervision, and handover of any project-related changes or improvements within the facility.
  4. Facilities Operations and Maintenance: Ensure that the Facilities Operations Centre (FOC), FOC Library, Stores & Workshop are clean and tidy at all times.
  5. Root Cause Analysis and Reporting: Work closely with management and the operational team on equipment failures and preparation of detailed root cause analysis and action plan reports.
  6. Procedure Development and Implementation: Provide input into and develop site-specific procedures associated with maintenance and operation of critical equipment.
  7. Technical Support and Vendor Management: Assist in technical issues, project management, vendor management, and technical reporting on all critical equipment and computerized systems.
  8. Third-Party Engineer Supervision: Escort and supervise work of third-party engineers and sub-contractors to ensure compliance with site standards.
  9. Alarm Response and Monitoring: Operate equipment, monitor, and respond to alarms and abnormal conditions in the FOC as required.

  • Minimum 1-3 Years of Experience: Minimum 1-3 years of working experience in a Data Centre environment preferred.
  • Language Proficiency: Effective communication and proficiency in spoken and written Bahasa Malay and English preferred.
  • Shift Work and Flexibility: Ability to work shifts longer than eight hours in duration. Flexible in working patterns to support operational demands.
  • Microsoft Office Skills: Good working ability on Microsoft Office Products, particularly Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Customer Service Commitment: Committed to the delivery of excellent customer service.
