We are seeking an experienced underwriter to join our team as a Chief Underwriting Officer. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Fire, Engineering & Miscellaneous Underwriting division.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize portfolio performance, mitigate risks, and drive profitability in line with business objectives.
  • Monitor and analyze portfolio performance, key metrics, and industry trends to identify opportunities for improvement and growth.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the underwriting team, ensuring adherence to underwriting guidelines, policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee the underwriting process, reviewing and approving complex risks, and providing technical expertise on underwriting matters.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and continuous improvement within the team.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a minimum of 7-10 years' experience in underwriting the relevant classes of insurance. You will also need to have knowledge of General insurance, insurance operations, BNM & PIAM regulations, market intelligence, and underwriting.

A strong leader with excellent communication skills, you will be able to motivate and guide your team to achieve their full potential. You will also need to have high-level integrity, accountability, and a good attitude towards teamwork.
