**Job Description for a Chef**

1. Food Preparation & Cooking:

- Prepare a variety of dishes using different cooking methods
- Develop and execute recipes to ensure consistent quality and taste.
- Adjust menus to cater to special dietary requirements (e.g., vegan, gluten-free, allergen-conscious meals).

2. Menu Planning:

- Design, create, and update menus to reflect seasonal ingredients and culinary trends.
- Ensure menus offer variety and balance, taking into consideration customer preferences and food costs.

3. Inventory Management:

- Order ingredients and supplies based on projected demand and budget constraints.
- Monitor stock levels and manage waste by minimizing food spoilage.
- Conduct regular inventory checks and ensure proper food storage

.4. Kitchen Management:

- Assign tasks, manage workflow, and ensure timely delivery of dishes.
- Ensure all kitchen operations comply with health and safety regulations.

5. Quality Control:

- Ensure food presentation is attractive and meets the restaurant’s standards.
- Maintain consistency in taste, portion size, and food preparation techniques.
- Respond to customer feedback and make necessary adjustments to recipes or service.

6. Sanitation & Safety:

- Ensure the kitchen is kept clean and organized at all times.
- Implement health and safety regulations to prevent contamination and ensure food safety.
- Oversee proper use of kitchen equipment and report any maintenance needs.

**Requirements for a Chef**

1. Education & Experience:

- Proven experience working as a chef or in a similar role.

2. Skills & Knowledge:

- Proficiency in a variety of cooking techniques
- Strong understanding of kitchen health, safety, and hygiene regulations.
- Ability to develop creative recipes and adapt to new culinary trends.

3. Personal Attributes:

- Excellent communication skills to interact with kitchen staff and sometimes with customers.
- Attention to detail, particularly with presentation and quality of dishes.

4. Physical Requirements:

- Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays, depending on the kitchen's hours of operation.
- Able to work at Melaka

Pay: RM1,500.00 - RM2,000.00 per month

Supplemental Pay:

- Overtime pay

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Melaka: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- Kitchen: 1 year (preferred)
